Violeta Pirvu – Real Estate Agency formally commits to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and security of personal information obtained in the course of its business activities and real estate brokerage services. This policy transparently defines the categories of information collected, how such information is used, and the strict retention and security protocols implemented in accordance with Québec’s Law 25.
1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information means any information relating to a natural person that directly or indirectly allows that person to be identified.
The Agency collects your information through fair and lawful means, directly from you when you provide it verbally, in writing, or through the official “Contact Us” form on our website. The collection of personal information is strictly limited to the information required to complete your transaction.
COOKIES AND REMARKETING. Our web servers use cookies to manage, optimize, and improve the technical performance of the website. These cookies collect anonymous aggregate data, such as domain name, encrypted IP address, browser type, and the date and time of visits, which does not disclose your identity.
This website also uses Google Remarketing services to display targeted advertisements based on your previous browsing activity, without ever sharing personally identifiable information. You may configure your web browser to systematically refuse cookies if you wish.
2. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Violeta Pirvu – Real Estate Agency uses the personal information collected solely in connection with its business and contractual relationship with you. This information allows us to guide you, validate relevant recommendations, and provide highly personalized real estate brokerage services for your property sale, purchase, or rental projects.
3. DISCLOSURE AND EXCEPTIONS
Violeta Pirvu – Real Estate Agency does not disclose, sell, or trade any personal information to third parties unless you have expressly consented to such disclosure or unless required by law, including under the Real Estate Brokerage Act, tax legislation, investigations conducted by the Office of the Syndic of the OACIQ, court orders, or emergency situations involving a threat to the life, health, or safety of the individual concerned.
4. RETENTION AND SECURE DESTRUCTION
In accordance with OACIQ regulations and the requirements of Law 25, personal information is retained at the Agency’s office under strict confidentiality for a minimum period of six (6) years following the final closing of your transaction file.
Upon expiry of this statutory retention period, the records are permanently and securely destroyed through cross-cut mechanical shredding under the direct supervision of the Agency Executive Officer.
5. SECURITY MEASURES
Reasonable technical, electronic, and physical safeguards are implemented to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, theft, or alteration.
Access to your personal information is strictly limited to the Agency Executive Officer responsible for handling your file. The Agency’s servers are highly secure, and your information is never transferred outside Canada for storage purposes.
6. RIGHT OF ACCESS, RECTIFICATION, AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Any individual who provides satisfactory proof of identity as the person concerned or as their legal representative may request free access to their personal information, request that inaccurate information be corrected, or submit a written request for its removal, subject to the record-retention obligations imposed by the OACIQ.
Requests are handled diligently within a maximum period of 30 days following receipt.
